Youth & Family

Programs for members from birth to 22 years old

During the physical shutdown necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic, we continue to offer a variety of virtual programs that facilitate Jewish experiences and inspire families, from all backgrounds, to seek out and create their own points of Jewish connection, both individually and as a family unit.

Passover 2021

Virtual Seders

For Central Members

A Family Affair (Elementary School Family Seder)

Saturday, March 27, 5:00 pm

Rabbi Rebecca Rosenthal and Jeremy Sipe will lead families with kids in grades K-6 for a seder where we will sing, celebrate, and hit all the seder highlights. We will have about an hour long seder, and then we will let you go to eat dinner with your household or other friends over zoom. Who will find the afikomen? Can we find the youngest child to ask the four questions, even over Zoom? Why is this night different from all other nights? Find out all this and more as we celebrate Passover at a seder unlike any other.

Two different 45 minute sessions for varying age groups

Children in grades 3 and up are invited to join Central’s YFE department for a virtual, Passover-themed scavenger hunt. The Amazing Race will have you searching for pyramids, chametz (bread), and even some of the 10 Plagues through the Goosechase app, which needs to be downloaded ahead of time. Crowd-Sourced Family Haggadah

Submissions due by Friday, March 12

This year, more than ever, we feel grateful for our close Central Community. At this unprecedented time, let’s come together to create a Haggadah to mark this time and deepen our experience of Passover through each other’s ideas, artwork, and family traditions. This Haggadah will be available on Central’s website as a public resource for family seders. In order to do so, we hope that you will contribute by submitting.
